xx Connection issues
« Thread started on: Oct 21st, 2008, 10:40pm »

..fer some reason unknown to me ..I have been having connection issues.

I can log into MW4 PR1 and MP3 mekmatch ...I can see all servers....however..two things:

1) I cannot see players in server anymore

2) I get a "server is no longer connected or network error" message

This seem like a sudden issue...I have seen an increasing connection issue growing for the past few weeks...now I just cannot connect.

I have rebooted router....rebooted PC...all the usual tricks.....grrrr...

any advice is welcome before i crush this machine!

Well MR. Bird,
Its seems to me that a few things might help.
Firstly, reboot your router again this time waiting long enough for your ip addy to change.
Secondly, do the defrag thing and after that reboot your puter making sure to "repair" your network connections.
Now...if your still having issues one question, are you using zone labs zone alarm for a firewall?
If so there is a "fix" for conectivity issues. Cause by automatic updates. I had this issue and it drove me nuts fer about 2 weeks.

Hey Yard, guess you're not the only one having connection issues.

MekTek recently rebuilt their MekMatch service (and whole website too). Since then the display of "players in server" via MekMatch stopped working for me too. However, for servers displayed via IP it still works. So it seems to be a MekMatch problem and should be hopefully fixed by MekTek soon ...

Now for that "server is no longer connected or network error" thing - yesterday I got it on a few mp3 servers too, whereas others worked without any probs. Might be also a MekMatch service issue, or of course those servers could have had some real network problems actually.
Yard did ya try other servers via MekMatch or tried to join any servers via IP? Plz check this first. Unless even join by IP won't work, the problem is not necessarily on your side.

And what about Venge, since it shouldn't be affected by any "zone" effects? Any connection issues there too?

One advice from MekTek forum: reapply the "mekmatch.reg" patch, this sometimes seems to help according to some posts there.

<S> I been feeling your connection woes myself as i post this im experiencing what sounds like the same symptoms. Seemingly randomly i lose the ability to connect to mercs servers. Yesterday i thought i had fixed it for good with
1.Static IP to enable Portforwarding the usual's 2.Tweaking the router and my firewall settings
I had corrected a problem with connecting to one server in particular which i hadn't played on in weeks. Tonight it returns and i can't connect to anything in mercs. I receive the same server networking problems message. Mekmatch seems to be working, i have triple checked everything and tried rebooting the router and pc,all sorts of scans. I'm stumped and unless it magically fixes itself probably not playing mercs. All i can imagine is that this is some sort of problem that occurs overnight and is on mekmatchs end. NEED IDEAS , HELP, SUGGestions peace be on you lipsrsealed
