Just a thought, but since everyone that comes to the server is a headbanger, uhhh...well, except maybe Zaug.... How about changing the bots to uber tough instead of mindless level 2 bots? That way it would at least be somewhat challenging as opposed to getting bored with the low level competition....

I would LOVE to! But I don't know how. lipsrsealed

I've wanted to do this for YEARS. I suspect I could do something in the ICD file of Venge and change all the bot levels from 0-8 and make them all 8s and 9s. This is how I changed all the bot names to other names. Used HEX Editor and changed the bot names. I looked in the coding for bot levels but never found bot levels listed in that code list. Bah. The reason I have the way the "Autobots" set up is that they appear in EVERY game (even CTF and BACON) but the bot levels are random. I could program individual maps with high level bots BUT the problem with that is that will always be there regardless if the server is almost full.. AND they would not show up in BACON or CTF. Which I don't like that idea. My Autobots will always take a hike when more than 5 people are on the server.

What I would like to do is have the Autobots like how I have but make them all level 8s and 9s. That would be great. I've experimented with "Nimbot" for this but found nothing that I could use (or figure out how the hell nimbot is suppose to work)

So help me out here server ops! Anyone know how to fix this with out having to program bots into the maps?

Nimbot should be first choice for this - "theoretically". With "Player Threshold" you can exactly define what you want:

From the Nimbot readme:
"Then CLICK the field labeled "Player Threshold"
When the server has THIS number of human players it will STOP adding bots.
So, A player threshold of 1... would mean 1 human player in the server stops the bots from being added in future games"

For Mercs that works great, =SoE=Zombie has set Nimbot to threshold 5 for his Mercs 24/7 server "Shadows Of Empirion" on MP3. All bots are lvl 9 custom bots and with minimum 5 players they disappear.

BUT - unfortunately Nimbot doesn't like Venge, here again from the Nimbot readme:

"Known issues:
2. Is not currently compatible with MW4 Vengeance."

Well, we tried Nimbot with Venge and it didn't work correctly.

What I did at my FrostFigh server: only 2 lvl 9 bots (2 for ATT and 1+1 for TA), defined in NFO files of each map. So server is never completely empty + the bots are at least some kind of competition and it's enough room for ppl to join. But main thing is: I'm usually on my server while it's up and running Venge, and I usually remove the bots when we have at least 4 ppl there. Sure, that's not the smartest way you could think of, but there's no perfect fix for this as far as I know...

Would be nice if anyone had something better of course wink
