exclamation Mech Warrior MP3b ERROR! *Danger*
« Thread started on: Jul 27th, 2008, 9:25pm »

Was hearing reports today of a mercs zone error but I thought it was only about the zone.. After hearing several people say their install is dead I was curious as to what they meant. I booted mine up to see and sure enough, the game is broken. After the game loads shortly after the game freezes and may cause computer errors. I really don't know what could happen for EVERYONES game to crash at once but there has to be an error in the code somewhere. This is just a Warning folks. Be careful booting this game up, it may damage your pc.

** Update**

Apparently most peoples "shell" folder got corrupted at the same time... thats odd, yall.. But never the less, I've heard if you replace the file all will be well.

Grab your replacement here:

I believe we can sound the "ALL's CLEAR" bell......

Merc MP3 is up and running fine...I played a few round tonight and all seems fine with the universe!

......still...I would replace the Shellmt.dll file though..if ya have not already.....

<S>!

P.S> I have heard a lot of rumbling about the MP3 high Def patch.....I have run it for a long time with no issues.........wonder if folk may have confused the High Def issue when it was a shell issue....just mah 2 cents!

Where does this go or is it obvious once you get into the program files?

Ahh! All you do once you download it is open your mercs folder.

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Mechwarrior Mercenaries

and drop it in. It will ask you "File already exists, overwrite?" or replace file or something along those lines. Hit YES and put in the NEW file. All will be fine after that!

Worked for us on 2 separate occasions! shocked
